Global lithium battery production statistics and analysis

Since 2011, global lithium-ion battery production has entered a period of rapid growth driven by energy technology changes and emerging technologies, with growth rates exceeding 50% from 2012 to 2015. The global lithium-ion battery production in 2015 was 100.75 GWh, an increase of 39.45%;

in 2017, the main application market of lithium-ion batteries slowed down, growth rate was only 16.85%, but benefited from the new energy vehicle industry boom led by the power battery boom, the global lithium-ion battery growth is expected to be stable in 2018, production is expected to reach 155.82 GWH, the market size will reach It amounts to 231 billion 326 million yuan.

Statistical analysis of lithium battery output in China

According to statistics, the output of lithium-ion batteries in China in June 2018 was 116,212,120,000, a slight increase of 0.3% over the same period last year. In 2018 1-6, the total output of Li ion batteries reached 5 billion 797 million 421 thousand, an increase of 10.7% over the same period last year.

Power lithium battery shipments grow rapidly

From the downstream analysis of the industry, lithium batteries are mainly concentrated in the consumption of lithium batteries (digital products), power lithium batteries (new energy vehicles) and energy storage lithium batteries (industrial energy storage) three major industries. Due to the small base of industrial energy storage batteries and the large proportion of consumer lithium batteries, the downstream 3C electronic demand tends to be saturated. In recent years, the proportion has gradually declined. In summary, the new production capacity and new demand of lithium-ion power industry will focus on the power lithium-ion field in the future. In 2016, China's power battery output reached 29.39GWH, which exceeded the output of 3C batteries and became the largest consumer end. In 2017, China's power battery output 44.5GWh, a total of 72 billion 500 million yuan, an increase of 44% over the same period, in 2018 is expected to 60GWh. Power batteries will be the biggest driving force for lithium batteries in China in the next 3 years.
