Li ion Battery Safety Potential Factor and Trend
On January 24, at the "Development and Breakthrough of Power Batteries" Theme Summit of China Electric Vehicle Association, Zhang Xiangmu, Director of Equipment Industry Department of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that due to the safety of power batteries, ternary lithium battery buses were suspended from the list of recommended vehicles for new energy vehicles.
Lithium-ion batteries include lithium iron phosphate, lithium ternary, lithium carbonate, lithium nickel acid and other types. Although lithium-ion batteries have high energy consumption and good cycling performance, they will be one of the important development directions of lithium-ion batteries in the future. However, due to the late start of the research and development of ternary materials in China, the safety development and verification of passenger cars are not enough. At present, the state is considering to further improve the safety technology threshold of new energy vehicles, organize and carry out the risk assessment of lithium-ion battery passenger cars and other vehicles under the current safety standard system. Before the evaluation is completed, the lithium-ion battery passenger cars will be suspended from the list of recommended new energy vehicles. It's the ternary potassium battery and another kind of lithium iron phosphate battery that are widely used in new energy vehicles.
So what it the safety potential factors with NCM three yuan lithium ion battery?
The argument for the three element lithium battery is that the stability of the material is not as good as that of the lithium iron phosphate battery.
Three yuan lithium material will decompose at about 200℃, and the chemical reaction of three yuan lithium material will become more intense. And lithium iron phosphate will decompose at 700-800℃, will not release oxygen molecules like lithium ternary materials, combustion is not so intense.
The future is lithium battery industry for sure, so what is the develop trend for lithium ion batteries?
Firstly, we must enhance the access threshold for the lithium battery industry.
Secondly, is to further clarify and increase the financial incentive system for the power lithium battery industry.
Thirdly, we should gradually promote the standardization of power lithium batteries for electric vehicles.
In the document "Specification for Lithium-ion Battery Industry" in 2015, battery manufacturers were limited in capacity, such as
annual capacity of batteries not less than 100 million watt-hours;
annual capacity of cathode materials not less than 2000 tons;
annual capacity of diaphragm not less than 20 million square meters;
annual capacity of electrolyte not less than 2000 tons; and electrolysis.
Quality production capacity of not less than 500 tons.
In 2015, China's electric vehicle sales reached 220,000 units, an increase of 162%, the demand for lithium batteries power up to about 12.5 GWh, output value about 25 billion, and the actual capacity of lithium batteries power up to 5 GWH. The power lithium battery capacity of our country is far from meeting the development needs of the new energy vehicle, and the development space is huge. It is estimated that in the next 10 years, the scale of China's power lithium battery industry is expected to exceed 160 billion yuan.
