what the difference between primary and secondary battery?

primary battery, is disposable battery, which can only only discharge once. while secondary battery, is rechargeable battery, which can be charge and discharge in cycles for many times.

rechargeable batteries, during discharge process, which polarity structure and volume is changing with reversible difference, so rechargeable batteries should take care with design process, while, non-rechargeable batteries are much simpler. because it do not need to pay attention to these reversible changes.

generally, non-rechargeable batteries' quality capacity ratio and volumetric capacity ratio are bigger than rechargeable batteries, but it's internal resistance is much higher than rechargeable batteries thereto. Therefore, non-rechargeable batteries loading ability acts much poor than rechargeable batteries.
