Performance comparison between lithium iron phosphate electric bicycle and lead acid electric bicycle battery
After 10 years of development, electric bicycles will gradually return to the road of lightweight, miniaturization and power-assisted mode. Many participants believed that the weight of lead-acid batteries was too large, which directly affected the weight control of the vehicle. The use of lithium-ion batteries can effectively reduce the load on the frame and control the quality of the vehicle. Therefore, lithium-ion batteries should be the best power supply for the new generation of electric bicycles.
Relevant industry insiders pointed out that the weight of 36V/10Ah lithium-ion batteries is only 3.5-5 kg, while that of lead-acid batteries with the same capacity is 12-14 kg.
Lithium iron phosphate battery refers to lithium ion battery using lithium iron phosphate as cathode material.
1. Long life:
The cycle life of lead-acid batteries is about 300 times, up to 500 times, while that of lithium iron phosphate power batteries is more than 2000 times, and the standard charging rate (5-hour rate) can reach 2000 times. Take 36v 10ah lithium battery for example, the lead-acid batteries with the same quality are "new half year, old half year, maintenance half year", and the maximum time is 1-1.5 years. The lithium iron phosphate batteries will be used under the same conditions for 7-8 years. Considering comprehensively, the ratio of performance to price will be more than four times that of lead-acid batteries.
2. It can discharge rapidly at high current.
Under the special charger, 36v 10ah lithium battery can be fully charged within 40 minutes after 1.5C charging. The standard discharge is 2-5C, the continuous high current discharge can reach 10C, the instantaneous pulse discharge (10S) can reach 20C, and the starting current can reach 2C, but the lead-acid battery has no such performance now. 3 large capacity:
at the same dimension space, lithium battery has a larger capacity than lead-acid batteries. generally about 5AH-50AN ( per cell)
4. No memory effect:
Rechargeable batteries often work under the condition of full capacity, and their capacity will rapidly fall below the rated capacity. This phenomenon is called memory effect. For example, nickel-hydrogen and nickel-cadmium batteries have memory, but lithium iron phosphate batteries do not have this phenomenon. No matter what state the batteries are in, they can be used as they are charged without first putting them out and recharging them.
5. Small size and light weight:
The volume of lithium iron phosphate battery with the same capacity is 2/3 of the volume of lead acid battery and 1/3 of the weight of lead acid battery. 6. Green environmental protection:
There is a lot of lead in lead-acid batteries in electric vehicles. If the lead-acid batteries are not properly disposed of after being discarded, they will pollute the environment. Lithium materials are free of any toxic and harmful substances. It is considered as green batteries in the world. The batteries are pollution-free in production and use, and have become a widespread concern.
